About

Hello everyone!

My name is Meghan, I am in General Arts and this is the last credit that I need in order to graduate! I have always taken a liking to writing and being able to express my opinions, so I am really looking forward to being able to do so within the blogging component of this class. Also, I have always been interested in the area of adolescent development, and during my last 2 years at Brock my main focus has been in Child and Youth Studies. Over the course of my education I have learned that the media impacts adolescent development in negative ways and manipulates the lifestyles of young adults, sometimes preventing them from living a happy and healthy life. Adolescence is an extremely sensitive stage in young peoples lives where they are trying to figure out their identities and come into the young adults they wish to be. I think so many factors have the ability to influence this process in young peoples lives, and it is important to be aware of these influences in order to help and prevent abnormal adolescent development from happening.  My blog will discuss the various issues that the media causes on adolescent development, and I look forward to learning and interacting with everyone on this topic!
